Welcome to Zigology! I’m Michael J. Baird (otherwise known as Zig) and happy you stopped by.

A little about me. I got turned on to blogging by one of my oldest and closest friends, John Pozadzides. Little did I know he would become one of the mainstays of the blogging community. Check out his site at One Man’s Blog if you get a chance.

I currently live in McKinney, Texas just north of Dallas and work full-time as a senior market engineer for an information technology company supporting an energy provider. Most of my work involves overseeing the design and management of a settlements system for power plants and other energy providers.

I feel I have been blessed by already living a full life but I’m ready for more!  Some past events in my life I’m proud of include serving in the Air Force Reserves, attending firefighter academy, becoming an EMT then an EMT-Paramedic, delivering 4 babies, and having wonderful parents, a great sister and brother-in-law, and a beautiful wife and kids!

I enjoy reading and commenting on other people’s blogs, World of Warcraft, reading Dan Brown and John Grisham, fantasy football, and watching old and new sci-fi movies.
